The Public Health Institute (PHI) is the lead GHFP-II partner. Headquartered in Oakland, California, PHI has over 40 years of leadership in public health. PHI’s mission is to promote health, well-being and quality of life for all people through research and evaluation, training and technical assistance, and by building community partnerships.
Locally and globally, PHI shares evidence, promotes prevention and builds community in a broad range of public health areas, including: - Alcohol, Tobacco and Substance Abuse

PHI's Leadership Development Programs
Throughout its history, PHI has created and implemented leadership development programs to increase leadership capacity of public health leaders. Roger Shaff, MPH has documented PHI and GHFP’s Leadership Development experiences, capacities and accomplishments in its evidence-based leadership development work so others with similar goals might find the models, tools, instruments, self-assessments, and books useful in their own work.
